We’re so glad you’re asking this question. If you’re facing an unexpected pregnancy, you may be wondering if you have more than one choice. The good news is, yes! You have two other choices: making an adoption plan or choosing to parent.
At Life Choices Family Resource Center, we offer referrals and assistance with both options. Let’s take a closer look. If you would like to speak to someone immediately, please call us at (970) 249-4302.
Choosing to Parent
An unexpected pregnancy doesn’t mean parenting is impossible. Single parenting (if your partner doesn’t wish to be involved) can be challenging, but we have many resources to assist you.
We’ll help you even if you don’t feel prepared to parent. For instance, we provide no-cost pregnancy and parenting classes. You can learn what to expect as your pregnancy progresses and how to prepare for childbirth. Additionally, our classes teach you about infant care, breastfeeding, and more.
With our Earn While You Learn program, you receive points to exchange for baby items in our Baby Boutique. You can earn maternity and baby clothes, diapers, blankets and more. Everything is completely free as you complete classes.
We can also assist you with referrals for the following:
- Housing Support
- Food and Nutrition
- Financial Assistance
- Childcare Assistance
- Community Groups
Making an Adoption Plan
If parenting isn’t an option, you can place your child for adoption. Life Choices FRC isn’t a licensed child-placing agency, but we can give you referrals to reputable adoption coordinators in our area.
Women choose adoption for a variety of reasons. They may not be ready to parent or may not be interested in parenting. Some women are already raising other children and don’t have the available resources to raise more. Whatever your reasons, choosing adoption is another way to parent responsibly.
As the expectant mother or birth mother, you select the adoptive parents to raise your child. Many couples are waiting to adopt, and your adoption coordinator can help you find the right ones for you.
You can also determine how much contact you wish to have with the adoptive couple after the adoption is finalized. By choosing an open or semi-open adoption plan, you can communicate with your child and their adoptive family. A closed adoption means there is no further communication.
Adoption services are free to all expectant women. You also receive all medical and legal expenses. Ask us for referrals to reputable agencies in our area.
Have You Confirmed Your Pregnancy With Ultrasound?
If you haven’t confirmed your pregnancy with an ultrasound, now is the time to do so. At Life Choices FRC, we offer free, confidential pregnancy tests. If your test is positive, we’ll provide a free and confidential ultrasound.
There is so much more to know about your pregnancy that only an ultrasound can determine. An ultrasound reveals if the pregnancy is growing or if you have miscarried. You’ll also learn how far along you are and if the pregnancy is located in the correct place.
We encourage you to connect with us as soon as possible. We can schedule a pregnancy test and an ultrasound, as well as discuss your options. No matter what you choose, you are never alone at Life Choices FRC. We will be with you throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
Conveniently schedule an appointment online by filling out our Contact Form or by calling us at (970) 249-4302. We’re here for you with care and concern. How can we help you today?
Life Choices FRC does not perform or refer for abortions.
